That eventually lead to an interest in African Cichlids. The Cichlids that got my attention were from
Lake Malawi in east Africa. These fish are far most diverse and specialized than tropical fish. There are
estimates of over 1300 species, with a staggering number of color and size combinations. They survive
better in aquariums than tropical fish and seem to be more aware of their owners than tropical fish. I
was even able to successfully breed Cichlids. They were a lot of fun for several years but I knew one
day I would move on. That day came when my last Cichlid tank sprang a leak. Fortunately, I was home
at the time and I was able to save all the fish.
This site has been created for everyone who has an interest
in saltwater aquariums. Aquariums have been a hobby of
mine since I was very young. I started out with a simple 10
gallon fresh water fish tank. At one time or another I've
probably purchased every tropical fish that a person could
buy at the local pet store. Back then there was not a very
big selection of fish, and I remember spending an lot of time
and money looking for something different.
That leaky tank was my transition to saltwater aquariums. I've dreamed of a owning a saltwater
aquarium with live coral for several years. Unfortunately the cost of the fish, coral, and equipment
held me back a while. This is mainly because I wanted a LIVE TANK ... nothing artificial. Everything had
to be living ... this included the fish, corals, shrimp, crabs, snails, plants, sand, rock, copepods, and all
the other living creatures under the sea. It took some time and a bit of reading but I can now honestly
say that my saltwater aquarium ROCKS!

wet/dry system, protein skimmers, cleaning, fish feeding, coral feeding and more. All pictures in this
